Porsche Immobiliser

Post by Barnaby »

Hi,

I have a '91 944S2 with not one, but two alarm/immobiliser systems.

One is a Laserline that also operates the remote central locking, the other is a Porsche Immobiliser (photo attached).

The whole thing is a bit of a headache, but lately the immobiliser has begun to play up. If I centrally lock the car one of the alarms goes off - I'm pretty sure it's the Porsche one (no lights or siren just repeated horn).

I'd quite like both systems ripped out but at the moment my priority is disabling the Porsche immobiliser, so I can actually lock the car.

My local alarm guys won't touch it. Any recommendations/suggestions? Is this a main dealer situation? I live in Cornwall so this would be a headache...

Or, does someone out there know anyone near me who could do it? Or could I just turn it off myself?

Cheers,

Barnaby

I have done this job on my track car, made easier as all the interior came out, then i un-picked every wire and rejoined the wires that were cut.
You will need to rejoin the original wires on the back off the ignition switch and from memory the wires that have been cut and joined to the alarm from the engine management box under the passenger footwell.
Its a long pain in the butt job, but when its done you will be able to fit any modern alarm/ immobiliser in hardly any time at all, if you want!
Oh i removed a scarey amount of wire and sirens and various boxes, fuse holders etc, as i to had 2 alarms also.
