Been looking at the website trying to view it from the perspective of a first time user and a couple of things spring to mind.
Lots of the regions don't put any details of forthcoming events. If it looks like there is nothing going on it doesn't really tempt you to join up
Also the picture gallery just has a few pics of Porsche cars that look like press photo's. Couldn't we replace these with pictures submitted by members from various Tipec events around the country so visitors to the site can see what the club actually does??
They could be rotated every once in a while to keep it fresh - surely there are 1,000s of photos out there to choose from?

I think it would be good to keep the website rotating.
Maybe the key is to keep the larger events on the main page and the regional events refeshed with smaller items.
The front page may be a good place to post details of the TIPEC stand at Goodwood Festival of Speed and similar national events?
Can the gallery be updated by individual members or is that limited access:?:
I think it's really disappointing that RO's can't use the resource we have made available to them. Especially after all the whining about our last website and it's lack of accessability.
Photo's of events is a good idea, I'm sure Jim will advise.
The site will remain limited access or there will be chaos, nothing to stop regions putting links on their page to photo's on the forum.

I have to agree with Sean here. I have been on this site since launch, and I have never ever seen anything submitted by my local RO. Also he has never responded to my e-mails, although to be fair he does send out e-mails a couple of days before the meeting to remind people. He could do better though, at the moment one gets the feeling it's a bit 'clicky'. If it were more welcoming, and meets were summarised on here with a couple of pictures, then maybe a few more people would turn up - I might even go!
I fully inytend to go to the next one as it's a show and shine so hopefully a good turn out - although yet again it hasn't been mentioned on here, and if it was then maybe members from neighbouring regions might take a drive out.
Quite willing to help improve the site if I can?
If you want photos for the gallery, I'm willling to put in a few hours taking photos of members cars off the forum pages. I can then resize the images to a standard and send on in batches for uploading to the main web site.
All I need to know is:
Who wants to do the uploading?

What is it that stops ROs/AROs from keeping their website pages up to date? With the Southern pages, we have been aiming not only to advertise what's coming up, but to keep an archive of what we have done, with links to photos so people can see who we are and what we get up to.
Gordon (total Luddite ) can manage it - why can't others?
If you need any help, please feel free to PM/email me and I will assist you.

Let me know if this is any help
Richard, thanks for volunteering How about I build you a photo album on the main site with something like this http://www.phpalbum.net/? You could then have password access to it to upload the photos, and I'll put a link to it from the main site?

I'll give a try if you can set it up. I'm reasonably good with computers.
I think it is important to show the variety of cars the members have. Helps everybody find there own niche within the club.
