'99 996 CD Multi Changer

Anyone know any tricks to get our CDC multichanger to work? It tries to load then stops, have tried cotton wool buds and a lens cleaner with no luck, some advice has been we should have our heads out the window listening to the exhaust!!! Any ideas?, anyone got one for sale? Or know who could repair it? Thanks

There is a firmware update, but pulling the fuse and putting it back in sometimes cures it.
