Hi everyone. Have recentl bought a '77 924 to add to my small collection of modern(ish) classics. Very little paperwork came with the car but it was first registered here in the R.o.I. May 2010, and as its a rhd its fairly safe to assume it came from the UK. Not bad condition at all apart from I've had to replace the o/s headlamp and fix exhaust leak from forward of box. Next job is to replace the throttle cable as showing signs of wear. Its reading 38k on the clock so safe to assume 138K although it doesn't feel as if its done that much, very tight and responsive. To get classic (cheapish) insurance here you have to have another car for 'everyday' use...don't laugh but in my case its a 2010 Fiat pand Eco, nearly as much fun to drive as my MGB GT... Handling a bit naughty at times!
Heres a link to the car in my photobucket library, there's a couple of my other cars on there as well: http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/anthonyc701/library
Regards to all.
Tony

Hi Tony, an interesting mix of cars you have :)

The 924 looks great, it is good to see that one of the first off of the line is still in use.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Yeah Sean, a bit of a mix of cars, I still have a Rover SD1 and a Triumph 2000 tucked away, both running but not in use at the moment. The Prefect in the pictures is a '61 107E, the one with the 105E engine, only made from '59 to '61 and quite a rare beast to find in good condition. Luckily they cant be faked as they differed significantly from the 100Es in having a completely different bulkhead. I bought that one really cheaply as the previous 2 owners couldn't start it properly or keep it running....I'm old enough to know when a vacuum wiper pipe is off!
Regards.
Tony
