Hi guys, long time 944 owner and forum member but I've recently upgraded to a 996 and I'm loving it.

Quick question if I may, One of my tailpipes (just the chrome tip) has disappeared. Firstly of course I'm hoping it hasn't caused any harm or inconvenience to anyone, but I didn't hear it go so I can assume it went at low speed...

Secondly of course I need a new one. I've looked around a bit and most I've seen come attached to a small section of pipe with what appear to be spot welds. A close look at mine reveals that they are simply held on with a (rusty) nut underneath. Of course I need to get these bits too. Any ideas of a part number or can someone give me a good starting point at where to find them?

2002 996 Carrera2 3.6 with I believe the optional sports exhaust...

Thanks!

They're all quad pipes, but they look good.

Thanks Lee, but I kind of like the originals. I was looking at some second hand ones, but they all seem to come with the bit of pipe they're attached to. Not a problem if they unbolt, but some of them are spot welded on and look the same! Oh the confusion... :?
