Hi, Anyone got a recommendation for replacing the rear window on a 996 cabrio. Mine's a 2001 and has faded with age. I also wondered if you could replace the existing plastic screen with the later facelift glass rear screen. Any ideas?

I would give Southbound a call http://www.southboundtrimmers.com/ they will know if it's possible or not. They are not the cheapest but are very very good.

If it can be done you will be able to shop around.

Before you go down the replace the screen, have you tried cleaning it with special polish? I use the BMW product, its like a toothpaste that you rub on screen and polish off. Gets rid of fine scratches and hazeness build up.Can get it from any BMW dealer , ask for Z3 rear screen cleaner . I believe another product called 'hindsight' is very good but not tried myself (yet!)
