 Post subject: 996 3.6 Air con Noise

I have had a slight wurring sound from the engine since I have had the car. But the other day I noticed that with the air off it goes away is this a normal 996 sounds? :?: :?: :?:

yep, almost certainly OK - it's the AC compressor being driven when you press the AC switch
makes a bit more noise when the AC clutch is engaged and the compressor runs

... and it seems to be noisier when it needs re-gassing.

That'll be the lack of lubricant as the gas is mixed with the lube. Can sha....damage the A/C compressor if left .
