18's give a very firm ride on the 993 also, have bought some 17'sbut have not tried them yet though, although I suspect they will improve comfort levels

I have recently acquired a low mileage standard '88 996 Carrera 2, with which I am delighted. It is shod with N-rated Conti Sport Contact 2s -(F) 225/40 ZR18, and (R) 265/25 ZR18. Given that we live in a rural area with some pretty rough roads locally, I am wondering if anyone can advise me on some Porsche-approved wheels/tyres that would give a more comfortable ride. We are quite prepared to sacrifice handling for comfort, which may be anathema to some, but so be it! V. grateful for all advice. |
