Dear all,

Just looking for a piece of advice. I have a 2005 55 997 C2 with PASM. I bought it from Guildford OPC in April and it has now covered 20,000 miles.

I have noticed recently at very slow speeds (under 20mph), especially after just moving off from cold, a very slight clunk from what I think is the front suspension when going over a rough road surface. Don't notice anything from the handling and all appears to be very tight, but just wondered if this is a "feature" of PASM and nothing to worry about or if it is something I should leave in to get checked over.

Anyone else with a PASM 997 noticed anything like this? Wouldnt have thought bushes or bearings would have started playing up at only 20k and having been given the once over by the OPC used car prep anything untoward, I would have thought, would have been identifed..I have only done just over 3000 miles in the car over the past 6 months.

Possibly me being paranoid but thought I would check with the experts !!

Probably the same problem as the 996, the lower control arm bushes are beginning to fail.

If it starts creaking then it's definately what it is.

Agree with Paul, but could also be worth checking the front ARB bushes & droplinks for wear also.

Thanks for the comments. Seems it is worth getting it checked out and I have booked it in for Friday.

Its weird trying to describe a sound in words, but its more a hollow clunk rather than a creak. This morning I tried it with the suspension set to sport and it was reduced. Certainly worth getting it checked out, for my peace of mind if nothing else.

Will let you know the outcome !
