Just got a 1999 911. All looks fine but I read about cylinder head gaskets going.... water & oil mix....new engine ! Its done 75k ...do people have the heads done as a prevantative measure. ? ..Theory is a new gasket sould be good for another 75k or whatever...or shoudl I just stop worrying ? What do other 10 year old 911 guys think ?

Not heard of head gaskets going, a few other engine probs but not that one.
I'd talk to a local specialist but head gaskets on a 911 aren't going to be trivial cost wise

Hello

I am new to this forum come from pistonheads and thought id pop in and say hello....

As far as 911 headgasket problems they do not suffer from these, they suffer from mainly small isolated cases but if there is water in the oil and vise versa then chances are the cylinder head has a crack in it... seen 6 of these so far.
