Ok, apologies if this is an idiot question but... ... 996 GT3s Did they come with 'normal' seats which recline and allow you to access the rear area? And did they ever come without roll cages? I ask because I am slowly thinking about changing my 993 for something slightly newer. I don't trust normal 996 engines and I like the rareness and rawness of GT3s but I must be able to 1) sit in the car without being in pain (!) and 2) put my hound in the back - yes, really. He comes to all the Porsche vents with me. All answers gratefully received. Ta Steve |

As far as I know..............yes and yes. ![]() There are some with the sports seats and the roll cage was an option. If you don't like the engines on the C2 and C4, what about a turbo? |

Take a test drive in some, even with my wide build and ageing spine I find the GT3's with comfort seats to be just fine. Seek out a series 1, the investment potential has a good outlook for these. Go on, you know you want to |

speaking from some experience here... any GT car is special you wont regret it std car is exactly as you describe - it was the CS spec that was a no cost option (though now very desirable) recaro buckets, single harness, battery cut off switch, single mass flywheel, fire extinguisher, full cage (supplied), no side airbags the std model has sport seats, that hinge, no rear rollcage. Both versions come with wide mouth grin as std. Hound should fit no issue. though I did take mine (lab cross) in the front seat once, collar clipped onto the harness ! She slept for the whole 200 miles !! a good MK1 is a real gem of a car. and so is a mk2 - quite a bit quicker too, but looses out on 'status' as it wasn't the first of the breed |

Hi Steve, I spent the last few months or so looking for the right GT3 for me, namely the Comfort Spec for the two reasons you mention above [except for Dog, read Bike ![]() Below are a coupla interior photos of my GT3, one with my Cyclocross Bike snug fitted ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
