Anoher problem with my 2005 997. The airbag warning light suddenly came on has stayed on.
When it first came on there was a message about a failure but this has not been repeated. Anybody had a similar problem?

Where are you? I can turn it off and read any fault codes it has with my Durametric if you're in Central Scotland? Then you see if it comes back. I have heard of problems with connections on the seat belt tensioners, but never know any who has actually experienced it.

Thanks for the offer but I'm near Bristol. Would a good independent be able to do this?

Any good independent should be able to turn it off and also let you know what triggered it.

Sometimes an airbag error can rise due to low battery charge/flat battery, or in the case of poor connectors.

We have seen some where the rubber seal in the connector swells up, pushing the connector out slightly, which can cause the controller to permanently or for just a moment loose connection with the airbag or tensioner.
