OPC warranties aside, how many here source OEM parts v other brands?

For example, looking at AC condensers here:

http://www.design911.com/Porsche/997-MK ... 81-cmo117/

The OEM Behr (#3) part is £169+vat = £202.
What Is the difference with #4, OE Porsche brand? Apart from price! £254+vat = £305

At Euro car parts, the same Behr item is £133 for TWO!??
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Porsc ... e3a&000382

And these are all OEM parts?? Looking at the Design911 site again, they also have 2x condensers at a low price of £199 above the ones mentioned above, but these aren't OEM... (obviously shopping around matters!)

Porscheshop has the OE parts at £248 inc vat:
http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/a ... g_997.html

Is there a list of parts suppliers, if not, let's start here...

There are a few factors to think about, do you have an OPC warranty for a start. Shopping around matters, but so does fitting parts that valus for money. If you multiply the cost by the amount of time you are expecting to replace something, this will let you know if it is financially worth it. Would you be happy buying a car that's been repaired with parts that were cheap and made in China, or OE parts that might have been a few bob more? When I bought my car, I liked all the OPC reciepts in the folder. :D If the car is a keeper, then it doesn't matter. If you want to sell the car later, then think about all the questions you're going to ask and think what the answers will be when you sell it.

You've list the main people I'd ask for quotes from, and left out the one I wouldn't. OPC parts come with a 2 year warranty too, worth thinking about.

Oh yes I agree, I would always go with OE parts, and love the receipts that show that in the history logs.

I am confused with the OEM Behr parts and the OE Porsche Brand? (ok, not from OPC in this example).

From Euro car parts, TWO "OEM" condensers for £133?? that's a £300 item for one from OPC, so should be £600 for two, saving £467! That's ludicrous.
(the next challenge would be finding a recognised Indy who would fit those parts as they haven't supplied them, as outside of OPC).

It's just been explained to me that Behr make the parts in this case.
The OEM will have Behr or nothing on it, and the OE Porsche Brand will have the official logo on it, for £100 extra (from Design911). They are in fact the same part.

I spoke with Northway in Reading, and they'd be happy to fit any part not supplied by them, but then would obviously not warranty the work, as it could be the part at fault. Otherwise they'd supply and fit, either of the parts listed above, or from Porsche, whichever I choose.
The Porsche items inc labour are £1080. From OPC and labour is £1200, for both.
If I wanted to use the Behr OEM parts it'd be £400 cheaper, with the 1 years warranty on the part (not labour).

OPC parts have a two warranty.

Some parts are definately cheaper from them, I would always call them for a price. Most will give us a 10% discount as well :D
