Recently had a Paint Shield protective coating applied (fitted) to the front end of the car, including front wings, bonnet and valence.

Done a nice job, and was able to negotiate a better price than originally quoted.

They are based in Peterborough, took 3/4 hrs to complete, was dropped off and picked up in town during that time.

They give a 4 yr unlimited warranty on the product and fitting.

So, hopefully I’ll not have any stone chips on the paintwork.

I though about this for the 996. Having looked into ti up here in Scotland, the nearest place people recommend are in Yorkshire. One of our guys looked into getting his bumper and front spoiler painted, as this is that part that gets the most chip, and it cost £90. They done a better match than the paint job I got done at Lawton Brook before picking the car up, hell knows who they got to do it?

So, £90 every 2 years? Is that better or worse than your film? Do you think the film will be better in the long run as it covers more of the front?

One of our friends has 430 and it throws stones up at a terrible rate, following him is tragic for the car and he takes the huff if you overtake him. We have a kind of smokey and the bandit thing going, of the police are going to stop anyone, it'll be him.

I got 20% on the day while at their premises, and think I could have got more but screwed it up, as I asked for 20% thinking I was being cheeky, but I'll never know.

Lee 944, £90 for painting the front is very cheap, not sure that would cover materials. If you can repeat that paint cost I'd forget the film and you'd be quids in after years.

The bumper comes off in 15 minutes, and he just took it to them. They done a good job and it turned out great. I was thinking it was an easier way to go.

Thanks Allan. :D
