Hi,
Has anyone any idea where the vent hose for the battery is routed.
I seem to have a blockage 800mm in. Pipe could be trapped somewhere in wheel arch?
I don't have the kit to dismantle the offside front to trace it myself.
Was going to pull as much as possible back then cut and refeed?
Thanks for any help

Re: Battery breather vent
Big syringe from the chemist, try blowing it through, I would not pull it out, you might never get it back in, I use strimmer line for cleaning out the sun roof drains, could try that

Thanks for your suggestions Waylander.Waylander wrote:Big syringe from the chemist, try blowing it through, I would not pull it out, you might never get it back in, I use strimmer line for cleaning out the sun roof drains, could try that
Tried various strimmer thicknesses, guitar strings - all to no avail.
There is a big blockage - when I pulled the hose off the battery, there was a lot of pressure released. Just glad the battery didn't rupture in there!
Cheers

Re: Battery breather vent
Try a straightened out coat hanger, next level
Or it is really crimped somewhere, I still would not pull it out

Thanks again WaylanderWaylander wrote:Try a straightened out coat hanger, next level

There are too many bends just to get to the grommet within the 'frunk'.
The coat hanger will just poke through the tube - at the first bend.
Spoke to an indi and they suggested not connecting the pipe to the battery until its on a ramp - "it wont harm", then I can investigate where its blocked and sort it.
Cheers

Re: Battery breather vent
Most modern batteries don’t have breathers, one on my bike does not, nor the one in my 968

New battery arrived with little red plug and a warning to remove immediately.Waylander wrote:Most modern batteries don’t have breathers, one on my bike does not, nor the one in my 968
Going with indi for now - until I can have a butchers around, by leaving battery not connected to venting pipe.
There is plenty of ventilation under the bonnet.
