996 C4S Spoiler Wing removal advice

Post by Spot »

Has anyone removed the spoiler deck / wing from a 996 C4S? There is a long metal strip which holds the top of the collapsible rubber trim to the underside of the wing / deck. (Beneath the hidden brake light). I’ve removed the plastic fastenings at either end but the metal strip is still clipped in to the plastic somehow. I don’t want to pry it too much. Anyone any ideas how it comes off? Ive tried YouTube, but the only example is an earlier car and the fixings appear different.
I need to get the exterior deck off as there are some loose fixings rattling about inside.
Thanks
Stuart

Update. Managed to get the spoiler deck off today. The top fixing bar which holds the bellows in place didn’t need to be removed. One of the fixings for the deck had worked itself loose and was rattling around within the spoiler. Re fitted the Allen bolt and the unit is now rattle free.
