My sunroof has got very lethargic when closing; to the point that that the 'computer' thinks that something's got trapped in it and opens the damn thing again!

Is it possible that the motor's become 'weak' or is there some way of lubricating the appropriate bits to restore performance...?

I had a similar problem with mine, rather than having the one touch close I would hold the button down which would stop it from popping open again. Then one day it somehow resolved itself, perhaps because I hadn't used it for a while the motor got a rest. Not the most helpful answer but thought I would share my 2 cents. If you are anywhere near Jaz Porsche Wembley I would take it to them or ring and ask, I find they know the answer to most problems.

I pulled the motor out it it seems OK.

I think something must've jammed towards the back somewhere and it's got a lot worst since...!

The sunroof now only goes about half an inch in either direction before it jams solid!

It's not quite as bad as all that...

I've managed to get it into the closed position and (so far) no leaks, but it won't move either direction from there.

Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead and just throw the fuse away and pretend it never had a sunroof; at least until summer comes around again...

At least things that went wrong on the 968 could be fixed...

With a bit of manual brute force I've managed to get the roof open enough to remove the inner lining to at least see what's going on:

There's a bar at the back that springs up when the roof's closed (I think it's to channel water away to the sides for drainage), but it seems to get in the way when the sun roof's operated. It even tries to pull the outer seal off the car when you close the roof... I can't work out what's supposed to make it fold down. So frustrating!

I've removed the inner liner from the sunroof, so now the tilt feature works OK (looks a bit basic, staring at the bare painted panel from the inside... ). Still no leaks (so far... )

Slide feature still jams at the rear; still can't work out why...

Think I'll leave like that for a while, until I gather more enthusiasm to fix it properly...
