places to find the old 80's 911's for sale other than the usual pistonheads, fleabay and auto trader?
im trying to look at as many as i can to compare prices/options/milage/condition etc.

also would you guys worry about a cat d or c car that is cheap if one came up?would have to be cheap though as i wouldnt want to get lumber if i wanted to sell on for a better car when money allows :?

I think the majority of "classic" cars never see an advert or auction site, they are sold I believe ,often, through established ,"quality" independent dealers, or by word of mouth, the other route would be to get one of the specialist car sourcers to find you a car, these people can save you a huge amount of time looking for cars that you would not find on your own. I think they do a good job, and will find you the car you are looking for :D downside is you may have to be patient, and that sort of service will carry a price premium. Good luck :D

Visit some of the classic car shows, particularly the Porsche events. Ask around, there is usually something for sale...

Ask some of the independent service garages like JMG, Strasse, Promax etc as they often get asked to sell customers cars or service cars ready for sale so are often in the know, how I got my car anyway and the garage will only want to sell the good ones because of there reputation. Also keep an eye on the For Sale section on here and as mentoined visit the club events and meets and spread the word around.

are there any shows left this year at all? ive joined impact bumpers too and just started looking through there.
i joined pcgb too.both seem a tad slow on the interest in them.or is the time of year?

what sort of money are the car searchers? and are rac/aa checks worth the money?i figured they knew nothing really good :?
would need to find someone who knows what they are looking for really.

Agree with above, you get a few on fleabay and pistonheads, also try Autotrader as they have a few

Porsche forums
Good independent garages, engine builders and bodyshops
Piston heads
word of mouth
