Top deal from CVI the club's sponsor - classic policy, £250 Fully Comp, four named drivers, three club trackdays cover included, overseas and UK breakdown cover, agreed value without a quibble and salvage if the worst comes to the worst with a £250 excess. That is actually the least I have spent on a year's car insurance, for any vehicle I have owned, ever. And I pick up the new motor tomorrow!  Thanks CVI! |

Interesting, the quote they gave me was only just below what i had quoted from Hagerty, at the moment Classicline have them beaten hands down but still checking

They didn't quibble at the valuation I suggested (which was several thousand more than I paid for the car) so we'll see what they say when I send it all in. I'll post up if there's anything onerous when I see the documents. |

No complaints about CVI from me. Saw them at the show, they went through my details there and then, and I got my free mug. They called back the following day and gave me a price for the quotation. I got the 944 insured with work usuage, 5,000 miles a year, agreed value of £6,000, on a driveway overnight, fully comp for a 35 year old married bloke with kids, £308. Cracking value and a hell of a lot cheaper than my renewal quotation. They didn't even need me to send in pictures of the car as they'd already seen it at the show and no need to return the mileage check form (although I will fill this in and return it dated with the current mileage as it has gone up since then) Policy starts in a few days from now. All good and very pleasent to talk too even when there were a few descrepencies on the paperwork. Ben

Interesting development - when I checked my documentation I noticed that a clause seemed to say that I would not be covered if I parked my car out on my driveway - it would have to be always parked in my garage. I checked with CVI and whilst in effect true it was said that it's acceptable in certain circumstances e.g. washing for the car to be outside. However if the worst came I don't really want to be fretting about whether I was covered or not and I argued that the clause isn't really practicable and anyway I had agreed I would garagecthe car overnight but not even discussed garaging it during the day. Problem solved - CVI checked with the underwriters and agreed to remove the garaging clause at no extra cost. So now I can leave my car outside overnight too. It'll never happen though! Just thought I would highlight this - check your cover to see what it says as it could have an unexpected and pretty illogical clause. |

I think insurance companies will use any discrepencies you haven't disclosed to them to not pay out. I'm always truthful when it comes to car insurance. Ben
