I have just bought an 89-911 carrera sport. It only came with one ignition key. What is the best source at a reasonable price for getting a couple more made up? Thanks. PaulD

I had to get one too for my 911.
I think you'll need to buy the blanks from OPC, about £30. You'll need proof of ownership (log book).

Any one else know any other cheaper ones?

In Oz, but I know a number of 928 owners who had brilliant service from them - took just a week to receive key from them.

They need a good digital photo of existing key.

As I have only one key for my 1986 S2, I asked about getting another one at m
y local OPC (Nottingham). They referred me to W G Pollard Ltd in
Chesterfield. That's where they go for all their keys now apparently!

Anyway, I visited Pollards yesterday with my car and its only ignition key.
Within about 15 minutes I had a spare key that actually worked (first time)!
I should say that this is the third time I have tried to get one. Both
earlier occasions resulted in keys that did not work!

Talking to the guy that cut the key for me, he told me that they now do keys
for many of the UK OPCs apparently with permission from Porsche. They can
cut from keycodes, digital photos (there is a postal service) or from an
existing key. Surprisingly he said that I was only the second or third person to
ask for one for a 928 (including the OPCs).

Anyway I thought I would pass this on for all of you with only one key! I
was charged £40.
