Bought my 1979 911 turbo bodied car in Sept 07. The engine was fully recoditioned & blueprinted in 1997 by a respected Porsche engineer in Cologne. It was uprated to 3.5 lts and 285 bhp and has only done 17,000 miles since then.(as per the advert) The engine runs really well and seems to rev happily to 7K, but does not feel like 285 bhp. Its my first Porsche so nothing to compare it to. Any one got any suggestions as to what spec it might be? It is still running on Jetronic injection, I noticed that the engine casing no starts with 930 ? I undertand that this is a common upgrade?

First thing I did with my old '44 was stick it on the rollers & find out what she was putting out. Actualy about 1/3rd less than it should. It's now sorted. Suggest you do the same. It's good fun too. But you need to pick a respected dyno that understand your car.
