Post subject:  warning light problems
This is urgent and any advice help would be welcome.
Sold our pride and joy and now she has thrown her toys out of the pram!
Due to be collected by new owner tomorrow so we ran her down to Shell station and filled her with Vpower.
On way home both oil light an brake warning light came on.. flickering and then on. They go out when revs are up and stay on at idle. Oil pressure is fine at 2bar idle and 4-5bar running. Oil level is fine. Passed MOT last week with no advisories and was due to relocate to new owner tomorrow :(
We have contacted him and he is understanding of the old girls strop but we need to sort this urgently.
The only other thing we did tonight was remove the C-Tek charger leads. We have checked the battery connections are good and the earth is good. HELP
.. we are stumped. I'm sure its an electrical gremlin... but what timing :evil:

Please if any one can help please get in touch.

Obviously it does not want to leave you.

I would check the earths and meybe the charging rate

Hi Dave, Thanks for advice. I've checked battery earth and its OK. The charge light isn't on and light setc are bright so not anticipating charging prob. Was still up at 2am trying to work out whats happened.
New owner is being a gem so will try get an expert to see it today.
We are starting to think oil pressure switch is duff as it uses the same circuit as brake warning lights.
I think she doesnt want to go. Never sneezed in the years we have owned her. :twisted:

The solder conections on the back of the dial fail causing random lights to appear.
Common problem, bad timing!

I called Peter at Motortune in Shotts today and he is brilliant! :thumbup:
Twice took my calls and was patient and very helpful.
He is pos its the oil pressure switch and I have ordered one up.
Its scary driving with the oil light glaring but the gauges are telling me good things! Pressure 2bar at idle and 4+ running. Cars not overheating so relaxing slightly.
Of course the switch needing changed os the one behind the air box / air flow meter :twisted:
If this doesnt sort it its a wiring glitch and will need to go to Peter for TLC.
Chap who has bought her has been brilliant and still wants her.
Heres hoping for a speedy fix.

All sorted :D
Was the oil pressure switch thank goodness.
Had to remove the air filter box and air flow meter to access it but it only took about an hour. Part was only £3.64 plus VAT!
She's off to Aberdeen tomorrow afternoon :wave:
Still not keen to go though.. tonight discovered the driver washer jet not spraying! We have blown air through and they are free but seems all the washer fluid is going only to the passenger side which is nearest pumps. Now losing the will to live I think i'll leave what i hope is a minor prob to new owner! Anyone any idea whats causing this one??
I wonder if having a restrictor on the passenger tubing would work?
Any way I'll be honest and tell the new owner of the new challenge! Life is never boring with a Porsche :lol:
Car was looking spanking tonight.. gleaming and shiny. Wee bit sad to see her go off to a new owner.
