Hi, I am thinking of changing my standard Porsche steering wheel for an after market Momo wheel. The standard wheel is 380mm but the majority of after market ones are 350mm. With not having power steering I was wondering how difficult it gets steering at low speed with reducing the size of the wheel.
Has anybody swapped their wheel for a slightly smaller one, and if so how do they find it?

Re: G Series Steering wheel swap
Hi,
I fitted a Momo wheel to mine years ago, yes it makes maneuvering more difficult but this is offset by better feel on the road at speed.
The rim also is thicker than the four spoke original so it feels better in the hand. I preferred the earlier Porsche 3 spoke wheel to the later 4 spoke personally.
My Momo wheel also obscures the speedometer but I can live with it. I am in Wolverhampton if you would like to see or try it.

Re: G Series Steering wheel swap
Hi,
I have had a 360 mm diameter Momo wheel on mine since 2004, yes the steering is a fair bit heavier when maneuvering it also obscures part of the speedometer. However it is fine out on the road and the rim is thicker that the standard four spoke wheel too which I find more comfotable.

Thanks Jon, I have found a nice momo wheel which is 370mm, can’t understand why it’s twice the cost of the 350mm but I think I will go for it, seeing yours shows it finishes the interior off a treat.
