I use one on my '96 993, just plugs into the cigarette lighter :D

Hi

The cigarette lighter has to be live when the ignition is off for the charger to work.

do what i did (albeit with a draper charger with croc clips) cut the end off that goes into the cirarette lighter and solder a tamiya type battery connector (male and female side available from maplin for a couple of quid IIRC) on, then solder the other end to 2 wires which are then connected to the pos and neg on battery obviously making sure they are the right way 'round, then its just a matter of plugging the charger in and connecting the tamiya connectors together, may also be worth fitting an in-line fuse if one is not already present

Hi

Further to my previous post my final solution was to use the eyelet rings and wire the ctec charger permanently to the battery, the bonnet closes without damaging the cable or rubbers when the charger is in use and it tucks away nicely the rest of the time. To use the charger for anything else is a bit of a pain but worth saving time on the fiddly conversion.

Just for future reference

The new style comfort connect CTEK chargers come with both crocodile and hard wire connection kits.

You can also purchase extra M8 & M6 eyelet hardwire kits e.t.c for extra cars you may own and alternate one charger between a few vehicles

This ebay shop sells most parts required.

I have/use a trickle charger, but my car sleeps on my drive so icant leave it unlocked, bonnet open.
Ive routed the charge lead threw the front and it pops out under the indicator.
Its only a small wire, say 10mm wide so dosnt look to bad.
The charger is a halfords £20 job and works bob on.

mine is a draper charger £20 from halfords, no problems either

Your car looks like electric hybrid too?

My nxt door neighbour asked me bout the lead, i said its elecy like a prious! :lol:
The daft idiot said "wow an electric porsche" its 107db and stinks ov super :shock: Well funny, might try the same story on the road tax tw@ts. U reckon it will work?

might be worth a try to get around the congestion charge too :lol: :lol:
