Hi all, or anyone who's listening.... :wink:

It's the first time I've winter storaged (is that a word?) my 911 SC for the whole period. As such it hasn't been started since October, and has the battery on conditioning.

Tell me, can I just re-connect the battery and crank her up, or does it need a little more TLC than that on a 30 year old engine.

What are the likely consequences of firing her up first time.
What do I need to do if it's a problem. Oh, and I'm no mechanic apart from owning a Cortina 25 years ago, so all/any detail possible !!

Be good if you can get some oil pressure in the engine before you let it fire up, we used to spin them up without a pump relay. The oil drains back over time and the motor gets a bit dry. When you start her up don't give it too many revs for a couple of mins. Sometimes the clutch can stick. I have mine still tucked up, I just am a bit sympathetic with the car for a while, make sure your brakes are working ok, sometimes the pads stick to the rotors.

911 SC is easy to remove the plugs, so in the same theme as Steve's advice, take the plugs out, pull the fuel pump relay or fuse and spin over the engine until the oil pressure light goes out, then put the plugs back in and the fuel pump relay/fuse back in and fire her up!
