Hi guys n gals,

My names DannyBoy and I'm normally found on the Subaru Owners Club Scoobycity.co.uk where I'm the chairman.

I've been trying to sell one of my Imprezas for months without much luck and the offer came up to do a straight swap with this 1979 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. Its been "modernized" to look like a 964 although not sure whether this just involved bumpers and few bits of plastic or all the body panels had to changed too? I'm sure you all know what has been done?

Obviously its nothing like what I'm used to driving and it got a few niggly things wrong with her as you can imagine on a 31 year old car but nothing major and I'm loving the "old school" feel of it. I even had a yellow 964 on my bedroom wall as a boy. :D

Not sure if I'm keeping her yet but definitely for next month or so while we have good weather.

gosh they have done a good job there. it looks great.

can't answer your question about what has had to be changed to turn a impact bumper 911 into a convincing 964.. possably rear wheel arches ??
slady on DDK might be able to help you as he has gone the other way and turned his 964 into a early 911.

don't know if this will be off any interest at all but heres a picture of my 1967 911t and my 964c2 parked side by side.

main diffrence from the front is the length of the bonnet

and from behind

the most obvious diffrence of these two is the bootlids/engine grill/spoiler

BUT obviously yours is a Cab and also started out as an 76 impact bumper so the changes might not have been so great.
