:) I have been researching the 993 model and similar to the last post am interested to discuss the various types within this model range .I am puzzeled that the 911 type seems to have a automatic gearbox ! how did this come about and what is the opinion of you other porsche enthusiats and the desirability of this option or not.

Autos r poo!

There fine in a big s class, but r pants in a sports car IMO.

Even the new tip style/ dsg type, there easy but its still a comp doin the work.
Wheres the satisfaction in getting a perfect down change?
They change when you dont wont them to, your holding the revs half way threw the corner about to open it up and Up, the comp changes up on ya leaving you hanging.

Ive drivin loads of the evil things and there pants.

Porsche are allmost the only manafac that still produce a race/road car in manual, gt3.
Ferrari,s version is tip/auto only!

I dont like em.

Hi guys, i've got a tip box in my 964 and it dosent bother me that its not a manual. I drive a transit all week so its nice to go for a drive on sunday in auto mode. Ive got nerve damage in my right arm and my hand somtimes goes numb on the wheel so an auto suits me, its all about personal preferance so why not drive both and see wot you like best. I dont track day the car if i did then i would prob get a manual but if you just want to go for weekend drives tiptronics a fine.
