 Post subject: 964 Speaker grilles removal ?

Hi,

Can anyone help with some advice on the removal of the spk grilles on the door spkrs and parcel shelf ones (these look like 944 frt door spkrs and might just prise off ??)...the paint finish has deteriorated on all the grilles !!!

If i remember rightly, the mesh pops off and the speaker is screwed on.

They are probably like the 928 ones, the ring around the grill mesh is threaded.
If you try and pop them off they will crack

Try twisting first

Just tried it, they unscrew :)
Or at least the tweater does, changed mine years ago.
The tweater cover defo unscrews.
My memory isnt so good.

Spot on with the tweeters, thks :salute: ,,,, the mids were the over centre plastic push on type,, managed to get a plastic filler applicator under the grille to protect the leather then it was a case of prising gently but firmly at the cut outs around the grille and off they came ,,,same with the rear parcel self grilles ..
