I tried to find a digital clock for my 944 on fleebay. There was one listed at £125. I asked the bloke if he had put the decimal point in the wrong place and he told me that clocks for the 944 are in the top ten most sought after items on fleebay, so take it or leave it. I could get a grandfather clock for less, although it would probably effect the handling and most certainly the visibility (perhaps a carriage clock would be more practical) Anybody out there know where I can get a clock from for sensible money ?? ![]() |

I've seen them go for as "little" as £60. He's right they command a premium for some reason. Why Porsche couldn't have gone to the vw parts bin for the clock I'll never work out. I thought of finding something the same size fro another car and fabricating a bracket to hold it in place. |

There just not worth the money. Mines bust & will stay that way. I may look for a digital alarm clock that will fit in the slot one day. If theres nothing left to fix ![]() |

these clocks are £250 new from porsche !!!! i did a retro fit on my 944 using a 968 analogue clock that fits under the stereo and filling the holes left by the removal of the digi clock using a trimmed down dash screw cover, just scotchlocked a home made loom from the digi clock loom to the analogue clock |

There was a long thread on the pcgb forums about 944 clocks, basically concluding that they're expensive, unreliable, and no direct replacement came to light. Im sure theres a lcd keyring/watch/stopwatch/calculator/clock out there thats the same size, the trick would be finding one, preferably inverted and backlit. Major headache for a minor problem but you may get lucky ![]() |

Dead 944 clocks can sometimes be rescued instead of replaced. I took apart two knackered ones and from the resulting parts managed to build one fully working clock. Fiddly as hell, but a lot better than paying eBay prices for a replacement! |

This isn't an easy solution, but an incredibly effective one: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=451442 |

Wow. A lot of effort, but probably worth it. |

Probably break it if I tried with my fat fingers. ![]() I've always thought that replacing the hugely valuable clock with something else and selling it would be sensible. I've got a clock on my radio, and on my tomtom, and my phone. An outside temp guage is a nice upgrade, but not with all that soldering and stuff! |
