Took my car to Richard at RSR Autotech in Bromsgrove as I have had a couple of issues with losing gears on my 997 tiptronic over the last few weeks, or slipping into neutral. Last time was outside my house when I was trying to reverse onto the drive. When I was stationary I put it into reverse & nothing. Then tried park, neutral & drive & still nothing. Rolled down hill & then tried again, this time ok. Spoke to Richard who felt it maybe the gear selector lever attached to gearbox byy a cable or could be some other issue. After 20 mins he had stripped, washed & greased & replaced the lever, now it feels awesome. Lever clicks into gears with a reassuring click & is like never before, so smooth to the touch. Never realised that the gear lever was not supposed to be stiff! Just thought as it was always like it. Richard felt I may have gone over something as it was bent, but now its freed-up its like new & only cost me £20, for an Xmas drink. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just feel the world needs more people like Richard & we all need to promote them when they do a very good job! Have a great Xmas one & all but don't think I'm getting that red 997 turbo I saw a few weeks ago. Just checked my garage & it's not there! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stu |
