Just received this months Classic Cars magazine and they have a 968 buyers guide in this issue. They rave about the cars quality but says it has bland looks and too young to be called a classic :?
Your thoughts?

Probably written by somebody who drives an Austin Princess 2.0ltr, and calls it a 'Classic'...... still an amount of 'contempt' for the Porsche water pumpers in these 'quaint' magazines I've found, and the 968 is such a rare site on the roads today that , classic and unique are words that spring to mind, certainly not 'bland', but each to their own I guess.

Absolutly amazing car. The engineering and the driving sensation make it classic. This one picked a fight with me today and managed to pass me.

I think 968s are fab. In fact when times were good in mid-90s, was seriously considering buying a new one in Speed Yellow.

Having said that, I don't think the 928-style look (upward facing lights, smooth tail) works as well on 944 body as the original superb styling. Personal thing of course.

They seem to have held value better than 944s though, and nice to have something a little unusual. Ones I see always look nice, so maybe easier to find a good 968 than a good S2? Need to find one where all the big jobs done recently though, and check those sills.

The 968 has really started to grow on me - particularly in Speed Yellow.

Only thing I don't like about them is the pop up headlamps. Looks a bit like if you were to squash a frog and the eyes bulge out. Not that I have squashed a frog or anything I hasten to add! But that said, you'd only have them switched on at night and wouldn't be able to see them anyway in the dark.

I'll run and hide now from the 968 brigade.
