Remembered it! My son has it on his Dell after an IT person changed his hard disk. He has no problems and at 18 must look and down load all sorts of dodgey stuff. ![]() http://www.avira.com/ |

If you ask around experienced folk including a collection of gamers It professionals web designers , home hobby users etc you will probbaly fid quite a lot of them say that Norton is the worst Anti-Virus product they have had the misfortune to come accross. I have been paid good money just to properly remove it from P.C's it has 'infested'. I used AVG free for years but did get a few trojans etc and my recomendation now would be for Microsoft Security Essentials own totally free product Windows Defender ( you can Google it) . I have not had one problem since using it and it is very low on resource usage. Prepare for the Norton fans to throw daggers at me ! Regards Mas |

I won't argue with you or anyone else over Norton as it is down to opinion but as for " you get what you pay for " I would just like to post an alternative view. That phrase " you get what you pay for " was invented and is often used by folk who use it as an excuse for charging far too much for what they sell including much over priced junk. This can be a car a piece of software, shampoo or the even more classic example , a particular 'branded' piece of clothing. If you did always get what you pay for in life wouldn't the world be a wonderful place. Trading standards would have been scrapped years ago and we could all just go out and hunt down the most expensive version of anything safe in the knowledge it must be the best because we were happy to be overcharged for it. Regards , Mas One of the other I.T professionals in the U.K ![]() |

I also like NIS and have used it for at least 5 years, and have had nothing get through it, true maybe it is on the greedy side, but I have found very secure. For the last three years I have simply googled it and look for the deals, I have not paid more than £11 (1 machine) during that time, for 2 years it was from Comet ! all these were via disk, couple of days and often free post. |
