From yesterdays NY Times. Apparently it's in the pipeline for Porsche to merge with VW. Quote from Ferry Porsche before he died: “Porsche must remain small and independent,” Mr. Porsche, who died in 1998, says as strings swell in the background and drums pound ominously. “No Porsche will ever be created by a committee, but by a handful of people inside these walls who know what a Porsche is.” Hopefully this will push the value of original cars like ours upwards..... |

Hmmm, perhaps Porsche should have not got to greedy trying to buy out VW in the first place with money they didn't have. Still, with all the emission changes coming, the sight (or sound) of a 4 cylinder diesel Boxster might not be that far away. Porsche are going to need VW to meet these targets, like it or lump it.
