Post subject:  water leak behind the timing cover

hi all.. i have a 1985 944 :D .. it has been using water :( , thought the head had gone took it to a garage, they told me it has a large leak behind the timing cover..
could anyone help me..?
where can i get timing belts, water pump and hoses from..?
how long does it take to change..?

Firstly Hi & welcome :wave:

A leak from there is probably water pump, although there are some hoses there. Download the manual from either Rick Cannells site or Promax. Take the front cover off the belt & see if you can see where the leak is from. If it is the water pump then it'll need doing pretty quick as a seized pump will trash the belts & then the engine.......
Bits, lots are recommending Jon Mitchell although I use Bert at Berlyn. Worth shopping around although I find someone who gives support on what they've sold & more importantly knows what they are talking about is much much more important!
