Have seen a 928 for sale locally and add states that he would P/X for a boxster. By coincidence today I pulled up beside the very car at traffic lights on my way home today and it did look very nice.

Almost tempted to look at doing a deal but after spending a bit of money I know its pretty well sorted and obviously the 928 is a big unknown.

I do prefer the looks of the 928 and the V8 rumble was amazing :-)

The Boxster on the other hand is a really nice drive, great with the roof down and as said pretty much sorted at the moment

Am I mad to be even thinking about this lol

There might be space for the dog if you strip the seats out :)

I must admit the more raw feel of my 944 was a pleasure after a couple of days in a boxster :?

Hi :)

Its a totally different sort of drive.... A Boxster is a modern sophisticated smooth, economical type of car...

A 928 is a huge V8 engined beast in comparison....its far more powerful than the Boxster and it is a real drivers car...

The 928 was designed to be a "Supercar" and still is, the Boxster IMHO is not and never was...

Now for my famous saying..."When I go out every morning (daily driver) and that huge V8 rumbles into life it puts a smile on my face for the rest of the day"

All I can say in conclusion is to try and test drive a 928 (mine if you are anywhere near Bournemouth anytime) and you WILL change and never look back....

I wont mention economy lol (think 15 to 20 mpg if you are lucky but worth every penny)

All the best Brett :)

Hi Ewan,

You won't find a bigger 928 fan than me! But you will find a 928 more expensive to run than the Boxster, even after all the catch-up maintenance which is no doubt due.

Also I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the 2004 service stamp shown! the key thing is what has been spent recently - the photos show some jobs have been skipped or are due.

There is one for sale in Ayr now, it's an S2 but I know Davy who owns it and have been in the car. I can't help but love the V8 noise. My neighbours hate me
