My Mot runs out in a couple of weeks and the motor to pop up the lighs is not working. Well the motor is turning, just not poping up the lights. Any way the lights are up manually and working ok. My question is, will the car fail it's MOT because the motor does not operate the lights or because they are up manually, staying up and working ok will it pass?

Due to the current economic climate, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off!

Not sure about the MOT. I'd ask first!. The lights can be raised manually. Take the rubber boot off the motor & all should be clear. It's explained in the owners manuel on Rick Cannels site. If you havn't got one go & download it.
Good luck with the MOT!

I would have thought as long as the lights are manually raised and working there should be no problem with the MOT but worth ringing the garage to check.

Hi :)

Spoke to a friend who owns an MOT garage and is also an MOT tester....

It WILL pass an MOT as long as lights are locked up..... if they turn the switch and they go DOWN , then they MUST go up as well, but if locked up PERMANENTLY, it WILL pass :)

All the best Brett :)

Thank you guys. I should get a chance next week to get it in and take it from there. I can't see any other obvious reason it would fail.
