I have had to have my 944 off the road for a bit due to money issues and setting up a new business, today I put a new battery on the car (it was being kept at my parents and my dad decided to jump the car, wired it +tive to -tive :(!) started first go, got some tax and insurance (which worked out to be £700 through Lancaster - I'm 21 thought that was good :))

Drove it about 70 miles today, good to have it back too :D

Looks like it's going to be my daily again now :)

Because it's been stood on my parents drive for a while, I have got to polish up my Fondmetals but have decided I'm going to restore them one at a time and repaint the gold too (it was a little worn when I bought the car). My Fondmetal / Porsche centre caps have also been stolen and not even Fondmetal have replacements because the wheels are old, so I'm going to "custom make" myself some (probably from messing about with Rostyle centres )!

There’s something very, very eighties about that Kalahari colour on a 944. Lovely!

Forget about the Quattro ... this is where it's at ;)

poprock - completely agree with you, I didn't like gold Porsches until I looked at this one but love them now!

Can't post the photo :(

It’s a good looking car, Pixie. I’m not a fan of the boxy sills, but I love the wheels!

My Uncle had a Kalahari gold 944 back when they were new. I can only just remember it, but he showed me some photos recently and it was a beauty!

Jim, I think you’ll find black ones are a tad faster.

Love the wheels too, I admit the 80's fever has got to me too to the point of only playing 'period' music in the car :)

Jim - how'd'ya manage that? :D After my Guards Red 944, I really fancied a white 944 but ended up falling in love with my gold one - don't think it could ever go, I tried to sell it and couldn't bare to part with it so it ended up sitting on my parents drive for a bit! :)

Gold ones are *certainly* the fastest colour ;)

Pastry - unfortunetely I'm too young to remember the 80's at 21 but love the music, Porsches and even a little excessive styling. Is that a guilty secret ... admitted ;)!

That’s the long way … or just put [img] tags around the picture’s web address like this:

Code:
[img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3378/3632401811_25cd930fb4.jpg[/img]

Which gives you:

… and another excuse to look at Pixie’s wheels.
