Post subject:  Hands free kits. Any recommendations?

Hi All,

I am picking up a new addition to the motoring family on Friday and I need a hands free kit fitted to it.

1) Does anyone have any recommendations? I like my toys :-)

2) The dealer fits Parrot kits and I could get them to fit it before I pick it up which would be useful. Does anyone have any experience with Parrot kits?

Thanks
Regards
Paul

In the countries where we have co. cars they all have parrot kits fitted.Never heard a bad word about them.

They seem to be market leader from what I can tell. I had a look at them at the weekend in Halfords and they seem ok.
Just always good to get actual feedback from owners? The reviews are generally good.
Just concerned I might be missing out on a hot product from another company.

The dealership do fit parrot, so would be handy to have them do before picking it up.

Having said that I am feeling the need for a decent sound system, so will mull over night :-)

Paul

We have Parrot kits installed to any hire cars we use (we hard-wire owned cars). Not heard any feedback, good or bad. However, nobody really gives good feedback, do they?
They are a good, and reasonably priced alternative, to drilling holes in the car as they are transportable too.

I use the bog standard nokia bluetooth kit in all our cars, no display just a button the size of a 2p on display which can change the volume, answer or redial.

Very simple, cheap, works well, easy to fit and discrete.

I have decided not to get the dealer to fit a parrot. Partly because they haven't bothered to ring back with a price.
Going to go to a couple of car hi fi places and see what I can get fitted including speaker upgrade at the same time.
They might have some ideas.
Thanks all for the feedback and thoughts...

I have a parrot kit fitted to the van..
I've found it to be really good so far, I like the faciities it offers (more than the nokia kit Paul)
Its wired through the stereo so its quite well heard in the vast cabin.

Despite my recommendations for simplicity above it looks like I'll have to ditch the nokia in the new Subaru in favour of a parrot mki9200 as it's the only device that will allow connectivity to ipod

Anyone know where we can get one for a decent price?

Thanks
