Well,am I the only one going to this then? Lots of car clubs are supporting this campaign, also motor magazines and all manner of motor sport related companies. Is Tipec going to have a representation(apart from just me)? Come on,its a good opportunity to get together and wave the new Tipec flags! :idea1: :wav: :protest: :)

It's a good cause. This is my favorite circuit. The museum is a bit special as well. But I can't see how a parade is going to raise the enormous sums that are required. Would be a good day out for sure though. I hope my car will be in bits by then so don't want to commit to anything at the moment. But it is a Sunday so it's not impossible.

Yes,my favourite circuit too. :) I ve no idea how they will fund the repairs although I would have thought it was within the means of the Wheatcroft family! I want another look at the museum just in case they start selling off the exhibits to pay for it!

It by far the UK's best spectator circuit but can't make that weekend.

Kevin Wheatcroft is more into military vehicles so may rather have a muddy pit to crash around in!

Bump.

The website has now been updated, please re-visit - http://www.savedonington.co.uk/#details

We are attempting to get a club display, and all signs point to the fact that this is possible. I would appeal to all local members to attend and show their support for this circuit - free entry.
Autojumble entry £5.
Museum entry £5 - the world's largest collection of Grand Prix cars.

Grid girls in attendance too!!! Although me being a happily married man woud not show too much interest, would I?

Have you sent an e-mail in? You will need to do that yourself.

I'll play devils advocate here but why are they expecting the general public to stump up and save something that's been taken to the point of bankcruptcy but undoubtedly lined somebody's pocket in the process?

I can't deny that they are wanting the general public to sponsor some parts, however the event on the day is free entry, and I think (I stress think) that the main point is publicity. I may be wrong.

I have no intention of financing the repairs,as I have said previously,I think the Wheatcroft family(who own the place) can do that themselves. They are looking for someone to take on the lease of the place and hopefully someone will, then we can get back to enjoying the great old track! Next Sunday should be a good day out for all the car clubs, the museum is brilliant, there should be some interesting things going on plus the Sunday market.I have a great affinity with the circuit,my kids spent so many weekends there and I ve seen Le Mans cars racing there as well as F1 cars and so many others .For the last 6 or so years I ve been to the VSCC races held there and have to admit this is my main interest these days!I think next Sunday is about people who like the circuit all turning up for a meet and a good crack!!! :) See you there! :)

We were asked to register quoting our club name in the subject.
I also asked about parking up with other TIPEC members and got the reply:

"You'll be invited to park with all the other Porsches"

I also believe that SYNN are taking their gazebo.
