have just received a summons to answer a charge of speeding exceeding a 50 mph limit, iwas not stopped by the police but caught on a speed gun,i have read the police officers witness statement and it does not state the speed i was travelling at when the alleged offence occured and i can not find it in the moutain of paper work which came with it,is it normal practice not to inform you of the speed you were doing?
i have been offered the option of pleading by post it states if i enter an early plea of guilty it could reduce the the level of penalties imposed although it does state if the court does not accept your plea of mitigation and they consider a ban they will not complete the case on the day and you will be summons to appear in person at a later date .
i have been informed that there will be a minimum court cost of £50 plus a fine and points!!!!!!!!
