2009 has been pretty grim and I thought to cheer us all up it would be good to share what our highs have been. :)

You have to choose your absolute favouite number one moment from the year.

O.K I'll start, I got married last year and we started trying for a baby. My wife soon became pregnant but a few days before the 12 week scan she had a miscarriage. This was a horrible time for both of us but especially my wife as it nearly destroyed her. Anyway we found out she was pregnant again in May this year and she is due in February. I know any child is a blessing but I always said if I was ever to have kids I would love to have a little girl as I have seen dads with their girls and always thought it was special, and guess what? we're having a girl :D
I know I haven't met anyone on here yet but I wanted to share that with you all. Really look forward to meeting you all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND HAVE A TOP NEW YEAR.
Andy Bruce.

Congrats to Andy!! Brilliant news .... kids are awesome. Can't get better than that.

Hmmm tricky one for me ....

I think possibly getting my Dad to go in a swimming pool on holiday in April. First time he had been in a swimming pool since 1950.
A bit strange I know, but will always be a good memory as it finished off a great family holiday.

And ... same holiday ... got to do one of lifes ambitions ... shot a Sten and UZI sub machine gun.

Good times!

Yep my new daughter Nina in February. Took me awhile to get into it. First 3 months wasn't much fun. But she's a lot more interactive now. :D Also got a reprieve for the 944. Almost had to swap it for a shopping car.

I know it will seem a little like we are all following suit to some , especiallly those who are still child free  but for me it was definately my oldest who is four starting school. I was so chuffed when we walked through the gates and he had his village school uniform on.
I have been desperate for him to really start reading and writing properly because it opens up so much for him and now he is at school (for half days) he is coming on leaps and bounds.

You made me smile re ' the first few months were a bit tough ' , yes lets be honest they can be bloomin terrible

Buying my (2nd/3rd) Silver Rose just before Gaydon.

Can't think of anything else good this terrible year apart from attending lots of fun club events.
My Daughter is 3 on Christmas eve so looking forward to Christmas.
As she will understand this year.

Can't think of anything really. Managed to avoid redundancy this year which lots of my colleagues didn't.

Pretty much the same here Jim. My company is completely re-locating our factory resulting in complete closure and all workforce out of work. Some office staff (including me) are safe. It's still not a good result, as I know all the workforce, and I know they're all facing an uncertain future, and I still have to work with them and look them all in the face. At least 85 out of work - sad times.
I suppose another time (and before the closure was announced), I went to China to be left dumbstruck by experiencing another total eclipse of the sun - it's an awesome sight.

Our year has been fairly uneventful, Guest numbers have been about the same as last year.

But we did become Grandparents a month ago when Sandra's son and his partner had their first child.

Tough year for me, got made redundant in June, finally found a job in Sept, just in time to see my son off to start uni. Was a bit of blessing in disguise really as i got to spend summer with the family and i can never have to much of that with this hectic life we all lead. :D

All the best to you all in 2010 guys.

cheers

probably got to say it was the whole GT3 ownership thing; from buying it, to starting to learn how to drive it properly, to tracking it etc
wonderful experience

more downsides to this year TBH...

Managing to move house during the economic meltdown so the kids could benefit from better schooling and keeping the business on the straight and narrow.

We have got a house we love (despite there being tons of work to do) in a place we love and watching the kids benefit from this so quickly has been terrific.

There have been several downs this year too unfortunately for our families but things seem to have sorted themselves out.
