Hi Adrian, Here is the photo of Simon Watson back in 2000 at the drag event I mentioned. I have scanned the pages of the magazine about this and another event at York that year. See also the bit about the WOTY and my 928 SE driving imressions. Live and breathe the Marque, Stephen

Hi Stephen ![]() Very interesting reading.....those times are very good for any 928....14`s is going some... Maybe we should arrange a 928 day at the Pod for next year. I would attend and run, although mine is not intended for 1/4 s... In "theory" mine should run a 13 or possibly a 12...be fun trying...lol Or even just a "Porsche" day......he says thinking about blowing away a GT3 recently lollll..... All the best Brett ![]() |

All the best Brett ![]() Hi Brett, Damn fine idea. Maybe we could set up a TiPEC and 928uk event? Incidently I was amazed that day at the way the S2 breezed past the 951. Bobs car was slow for a Turbo S (after the event he went crazy on mods). My original Silver Rose Turbo S had set a 14.01 at York at a PCGB event in 97. 14.5 was the best we could manage for the current Rose this year at York. I just failed to beat 14 in the GTS but now its been serviced and decatted I think that should be on the cards. Last time I never even bothered to warm the tyres. That last photo - Do you know the full numberplate of the car in the background. Thinks it's my mates car (he's just spent 2.5K on the engine) |

I'm up for the day at The Pod as long as its for 944's too ![]() I've never seen a 924 turbo engine , as soon as I saw the pic it struck me as an unusual looking layout ? that altenator right at the top and whats with the up ended induction kit ? , very interesting to see that . |

Fascinating articles and photos Stephen - many thanks for posting. Often chat to Simon W so will tease him about the caption! Very interesting about how left to itself the auto box got the best times. I think this underlines why an auto can be a very good choice in a 928. I've never had an auto 'daily driver' and never plan to get one but it seems to be a good match in an S4. |

In the past the 928 UK guys have always been happy to see 944's. Bob who took the 944 Turbo had previously owned a Gold 928S. It is always good to look at other models and interesting to see the differences under the bonnet of different variants of the same model. Even more fun is to drive them back to back (I used to jump from 928S2 auto to 928 SE manual to my 98 GTS auto regularly). Comparing and pitting them against one another is great fun and has to be done. Check out my GTS engine bay to the S2 engine bay in the earlier post. Live and breathe the Marque, Stephen

Hi Adrian, MY only concern using an auto 928 as a daily driver (I use my mine all year long), is that at 30 mph in town the engine is only doing roughly 800 rpm and it at idle oil pressure. I always think an engine should be doing around 1500 rpm when driving. Incidently. I don't think I can now make the 928 meet on the 5th despite really wanting too. The 5th is my brothers birthday, the 6th is the wifes birthday etc and neither are keen to go. The purple monster is in Glasgow for a windows out respray. Dropped it off yesterday and it will be around a month. Stewart Gordon is in charge of the spray job. He is doing the prepwork and the guy doing the actual spraying has done many superb Scottish region concourse cars. I would trust them with my life and more importantly my car. Not many people I'd trust with the latter...... At the meet could you give my apologies to the guys. Say hello to Simon again for me. As everyone will be there could you also float the idea of another 928 meet at the Pod supported by TiPEC. I know Sean 'Big Plums' Smallman is in favour of the idea. ![]() Thanks mate, Live and breathe the Marque, Stephen |

Got a couple of names from 928 uk already. Guess I'll have to fix a date and organise an event now. Stephen |

Since I have to travel from the frozen North. I plan a B&B or camping. Gives you chance for a social drink on the evening and breas up the journey. Any Porsche will be welcome |
