found this on pistonheads,http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1330199.htm, says was cat D but now removed, how is this/can this be done ? |

It cannot be removed, you can get an inspection but it stays on the register. |

As a repairer they should be well aware of this. E-bay could do with policing. Stephen |

DekandGord Oops yes Pistonheads in this case. Yes Simon Butterworth is Porsche apart. I've known him since 1996 and would normally trust him with my life. I am searching the web to try to find an answer. I found the answer below but cannot prove it right or wrong. Soke to bunch of car traders this afternoon and they are of the opinion that http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Insuranc ... 87904.html If it was you who had the accident, and the insurer declared it a total loss and then entered the vehicle onto MIAFTR, then providing you can produce an alternative repair estimate which makes the vehicle a repairable option (in a reasonable period of time), the insurer can send copies of the estimate and an accompanying engineer's report to the DVLA to remove the marker (after deleting the MIAFTR entry). If you bought the car as a Cat D, or wrote it off yourself some time ago, then you can't Stephen |
