It's easy to say it's London who cares, but where will it end? We already contribute more to the economy when we buy the car through VAT, we pay more in road tax. The congestion charge has become a polution charge and if you drive a "clean" car your exempt. That's defeating the purpose of why the levvy was introduced in the first place. Radio 5 live have asked me to take part in a live debate at 23.00. I declined because whatever I say on behalf of our community we'll be made to look like anti environmentalists. If anyone does fancy it, I have the contact details. |

no point in me doing it ! I will just get real ANGRY. I think the presenter is richard bacon and he is a twat. Apart from that the bods of London have the chance to say no thanks as they have a mayoral election coming up, 2 of the other candidates are agianst the charge so Londoners can choose. |

Just read the link to the Independant article and found out that not only does it apply to modern cars over 225gm CO2 per km but it also applies to cars before 2001 that are over 3000cc in engine size - drat! Not that I ever drive either Porker in central London anyway ![]() |

suits me to be honest, the passenger transport system do with a good boost, it is easier to get round the place on the tube and buses anyway. Do you want to kill me now? ![]() |

is mole burning still legal? do you know over ten million moles were killed in the first part of the last century to make moleskin troooooosers? must have been a massive pair. |

Does burning moles release CO2 into the atmosphere and contribute to global warming? ![]() |

moles are a sustainable resource tho so it is ok.I understand Toyota are working on a mole/rodent powered hybrid, perhaps with 5000 hamsters on wheels providing main motive power and filling up batteries overnight via weeny generators. |

I wonder how central London business would react if all us out of towners just refused to go there? How would the Mayors office react then with empty shops, theatres, museums etc. In reality most people who wanted to go there in their gas guzzlers will still go there and burn their carbon based fuels in doing so. Only now they will add £25 to the coffers while they are at it. I have no knowledge of this but has the original congestion charge actually reduced congestion? I never go there so don't know. Getting back on topic I am sure the moleskin trouser tailors would be up in arms too ![]() |
