Same here I used to go climbing in the Lake District every May and September with a friend of mine who lives in Windermere.

I watched the first programme about Striding Edge

One February winter I remember we went climbing up onto Striding Edge direct from the Red Tarn. It was in a white out and had to cut through a huge cornice to get onto the ridge and then lie down and plant the ice axes in a 70mph plus gale just to recover from the effort.

Then, when trying to get back to Windermere over the Kirkstone Pass the road was completely frozen and we had to get out, lie down in the road and fit snow chains; blue fingers, no views but an epic day.

Who said driving a Porsche was difficult!
