I had a VIP invitation to Guy Slamon Jaguar today to try the new XF.

A woman I know there said 'Try the 2.7 V6 diesel first, then try the SV8 Supercharged beasty'

Well, what can I say. Very impressed. Comfortable, responsive, nice everyday car.

Then came the SV8 Supercharged animal. Blown away. Overtaking is done in a blink of a eye. Don't sneeze or you will miss it.
This car I want! It maybe an auto and it may have flappy paddles. But I loved it. If anyone gets the chance to take one of these motors out then don't say no.

I don't know. It would make sense but it just feels different, but that maybe because I drove XKR around Thruxton not on the road.

Yup same engine. Waiting for my invite from Guy Salmon. Wasn't sure abut the XF when I saw the pics but in the flesh it's very impressive. Now had my S-Type a year so could be interested in an XF if the deal was good.

Well, when Rachel was looking for a 911 they happened to have a 996 for sale. I went in and asked if I could take a look. They then did their sales bit to me and asked if I wanted to be on the mailing list, so I said yes.

Since then we (Rach' & myself) have been invited to a track day to test drive a range of cars and another VIP day at Mannings Heath golf club to test drive some cars on the road, we both had an XKR for that drive. Rachels was the soft top I had the coupe.

Get down to your local dealer and get on the mailing list is my suggestion and get friendly with an event organiser.
