back in june a member asked what rating fuel he should use in his boxster,by chance i have just watched a back addition of fith gear they tested the claims of bp ultimate and shell optimax against ordinary unleaded fuel, conclusion was that unless you drive a performance car you are wasting your money!!,the winner was shell optimax which did increase horsepower by quite a bit. changing the subject just had 2 rear shocks and new nearside wishbone replaced on 1998 boxster 2.5 picked up on last mot,car drives like new, cost parts and labour £718-89. parts sourced from eurocarparts best prices available and available same day ordered 9am got by 4-30 pm all parts as original by porsche. any advice on how to remove panel behind seats to gain access to engine area also want to upgrade sound insulation to reduce general noise coming into cabin any help would be appreciated. |

do you want to gain acces to front or top or both ? for the top you have to put the roof back about 6 inches, presuming you have a plastic rear screen you have to look under the rear of the roof and unhook the weather piece from the back section where the cover latch is then on either side of the roof canvas you will find a wire with a ball joint on each end, unclip them from the roof side and not the car body, then fold the back section of the roof with the plastic screen forward ensuring you karate chop the screen so you dont damage it, the roof should stay forward uncovering the carpeted section with 4 plastic screws which half fold up so you can undo them, undo them by turning them 90 degree's and lift off and you will uncover the engine cover with 5 twist clips on undo and lift off and there you will find a nice dusty engine ![]() more than happy to talk ya through it if you want to give us a call in morning at work which is 01226 780237 cheers john |
