Hi

The circuit has been reopened for an annual event which takes place every September

This year it will be on September 25 to 27

This year is the third year of the event and it is growing in stature

This year Jaguar are taking the D type that won there in 1965 together with 2 other cars from the Jaguar Heritage Centre

Enthusiasts can also take part in 3 forty five minute parade sessions

See www.weea-organisation.com

I am hoping to get a trip up for Central region in 2010 or 2011

The original buildings were in a terrible state about 5 years ago, but local enthusiast group started to rejuvenate them and hence the freshly painted walls and original signage. There are basically three buildings - the main grandstand on one side of the road, and the original pits building and a race marshal building on the other side. There is an access tunnel between the two. The main grandstand is a bit crumbly in places, hardly surprising given its concrete structure and age.

The race meet in Spetember is becoming more popular every year, last year attracted lots of interesting historic cars. The original race track was in the main turned into normal roads now - for September the roads are closed and the track loop reinstated. You stand there in silence and imagine those old racers screaming by and the smell of hot oil. :D
