Just ordered a new front bearing from ebay America. It's a radiused inner so expensive. Last one I got before Christmas was £40 for the Kit. I now have 2 on the way for $40 inc shipping. ![]() ![]() |

I'm currently working in customs, be aware of the charges they also include postage in the value:- Duty, VAT and handling charge of either £8 or £13.50. We are opening parcels sent from the US then googling the contents to see the real value and charging accordingly. |

I don't object to paying VAT & duty. Got the price wrong. These bearings are £7.50 each. Berts were £22 + Postage. I've also ordered some bits I've not seen before new. Total order is £90 so it will still save money even with a handling charge. Most of the bits on this site are half the price they are here. Some much cheaper. Just hope they ship it properly with an invoice or I could get stung! ( A few more. Distributer cap. £18 Brake caliper oem new £35. Oil cooler gasket set £15) |

Customs have the right to open anything that comes through our borders. To be fair some of the stuff that has been ceased during my time there it's a godsend that they have the authority to open parcels. Guns, rifles, swords, throwing weapons, land mines, grenades all packaged and declared as low value gifts. It's pretty scary really as all these parcels are supposed to be x-ray cleared by the country of origin and for every one ceased they reckon 10 get through. |

Bother, I've just asked my daughter to pop down to Arizona and pick up a fully armed B52. Back to the drawing board. |

Parts were 90$ listed as $75! Surely Porsche parts should be exempt from tax as restoring old Pork is virtual charity & important for motoring heritage. And all the money I get goes on the '44 so I'm always skint anyway. |

seg1959 wrote: J.J. wrote: Parts came. No duty or VAT ![]() ![]() ![]() Where did you order them from? seg One Seal that I ordered didn't come. Seller has yet to respond to email. I can't reccomend the seller in this case. On balance I did ok but it may be more luck. Will list the shop if & when it's sorted. Since I got the new coolant expantion tank it really showed up the brake resovoir. Now both are new ![]() Lindsey Racing sell lots of standard Porsche parts as well as the spiecal stuff & they work out about 30% cheaper than getting them here. Order has to be big enough to make it worth the handling charge. They do it right & list the parts with correct price! |
