A Porsche VIN decoder is available along with details of every road-going Porsche for the iPhone; the iTunes link is http://www.itunes.com/apps/porschearchive - works without an Internet connection so ideal for checking VIN on prospective purchases!

Nice app Jim - thanks for link. Haven't bothered upgrading my software to run the apps (I have an original iPhone, and every new software version seems to create some problems which I'd rather not have to address) but may do so just to run this!

Current version (3.1) has lots of new features, is very stable and worth the upgrade...

The new features are nice (esp landscape keyboard, cut & paste) but on the Apple forums people with original software (I'm on 1.1.2) are still finding problems with sync not behaving after upgrade, reduced battery life. I rely on phone so much for work that I don't want hassle of sync going wrong or reduction in current stellar battery life (I can browse and email intensively for days on a full charge). Would love the Porsche app (and my kids have eyes on quite a few games to run on Dad's phone...) but may just wait till I get a 3GS.

Very conservative for me as I'm a massive Apple fan - not used anything else since 1990 and can't understand why anyone would use anything else!

They've certainly put cat among pigeons in mobile market. makes you wonder what on earth the legions of techs have been doing at Nokia, Samsung et al for all those years when they could have been designing proper interfaces.

I'm now on 3G S - much quicker and longer battery life...

How's the 3G coverage?

O2 has been getting a slating for poor 3g coverage even in major city centres, so I'm reluctant to be stuck with them for another 18 months on a bad network if the iPhone will be moving to Voda.
